Those standard residential locks are completely and entire wimpy and inadequate when compared to this lock, and this lock only costs a little more here on Amazon!! This thing is extremely heavy duty inside and out. I'm not particularly interested in high security, only in durability, but this lock offers both in spades. It offers three different installation options to increase security. WOW. The one thing to watch out for is that this lock has the longer backset (distance from edge of door to middle of lock), and luckily for me, I had purchased a door without the hole drilled, so I drilled the appropriate backset. This lockset states lifetime machanical warranty and it will get tested. Purchased for a low use exterior door in Jan of 2014 and by June of 2015 it didnt operate correctly... by July 2015 had to take out because it became inoperable. Have submitted warranty claim via Amazon and they state they "weren't able to locate the manufacturer's warranty information for this product. This may mean this item doesn't come with a manufacturer's warranty." The listing expressly states that it has a "Lifetime Mechanical Warranty" and was fulfilled by Amazon. |

This master keyed (Series P)heavy duty ANSI Grade 2 certified cylindrical Key-In style Lever handle entry lockset is ADA approved for barrier free access on all commercial and residential exterior doors. The versatile, reversible, Lever handle can be used for either right or left handed applications. The 5-Inch handles work independently of each other. The exterior handle is removable for ease of rekeying. The 2-3/4-Inch backset latch meets the UL 3 Hour Fire Rating. This lockset is made to fit doors between 1-3/8-Inch and 1-3/4-Inch. The 6 pin solid brass SC1 keyway is keyed to 5 pins. The US26D satin chrome finish is covered by a 10 Year Warranty. Legend Contractor Series leversets also carry a Lifetime Mechanical Warranty.
