It was an easy upgrade/replacement to the Kwikset on my front door.This handleset's "satin nickel" finish is smooth and looks great. The construction is solid, and everything fit together perfectly (nothing mis-machined). No rattles or squeaks afterwards either. The directions look much more complex than the install actually is. Schlage provides a secondary reinforcement plate for the deadbolt. Otherwise, if you've replaced an exterior handleset before, installing the Schlage will be very familiar. It's still a modest pain to line up the screws for the handle, everything else was straightforward. The old Kwikset had taken a beating over the last 8+ years and looked pretty bad. Sturdy and works well. The bottom attachment of the outside handle didn't match up with my previous handle, so there is a hole that needs to be filled and painted. The Schlage handle actually has a nice adjustable feature for the bottom handle bolt, but it wasn't quite enough to match my old set up. Install was reasonably simple. Told by locksmith that this lockset could not be re-keyed to match my other Kwikset style locks.
